Cleaning 1985 TD Pajero engine bay

Post by linarms »

Howdy everyone.

Here's a dumb newbie question for you. I did try searching, but didn't find quite what I was looking for.

I'm just wondering how you'd clean an old turbodiesel Pajero engine bay. Particularly, which bits you'd cover up before hitting it with degreaser and a (high-pressure) hose.

Here's what it looks like at the moment:

Not ridiculously dirty, but I'd like to clean it anyway.

Look forward to your advice.

Ok, so you wouldn't bother covering anything up? Just blast away?

Yep, shouldn't be anything in there you need to worry about. The only thing you really need to avoid doing is blasting across the radiator too hard, there's a risk the fins will get smashed.

Thanks :) All done!

I did a degrease first, then CT-18 (closest I had to truck wash). It's not perfect, but good enough for me :)
