Hard to start

Post by Beauzooki »

Most times i go to start my suzuki seirra sj70 95 it just turns over for a while before the engine will run (doesnt matter if the engine is hot or cold). The engine will fine once it has started.i just replaced the leads plugs cleaned the distributor and the battery is fine, does anyone have an idea?

Did you change the coil as well...? Check if its still in good condition...?

checked the dipstick see how much oil you got in there...? Or does it need new oil, engine system generally wont let engine start till you have oil pressure so if your not running enough or wrong oil it might be part of the reason...? This is just another area to check, Im sure others will have some more to add
..wrench, wheel, wreck repeat..

might be timing. Might be the fuel pump flogging out. I know that if i gave the accelerator around 4-6 pumps before i turned it over it seemed to start quicker. the fuel pump is also mechanical so it would need a few revolutions to get fuel into the system as well.

Fuel pump may not be holding prime, needing more revolutions of the motor to pump the fuel up. Do you have to pump the accelerator to get it going?
