Hey,
Tossing up between ERPS and/or chemical rust proofing for a relatively new Jimny that is mostly used on sand. Any recommendations? trying to spend as little cash as possible (obviously) while making sure the bottom of my shitbox doesn't fall out from underneath me.

ERPS vs Chemical Rust Proofing
Never used ERPS myself but my grandmother shelled out nearly a grand as an extra on a new Cressida 10 years ago and had to respray and sell the car at 6 years old due to rust. (She lives on an island and parks near the beach).
Can't go past trans fluid/engine oil(new) mix and then a coat of Cavity wax over the top. Re-do every 18-24 months.

I have an ERPS and i'll only have a definitive answer when i see masses of rust... if it works then i can't definitely say thats the reason i am low on rust (had it when i fitted the ERPS).
But i can say it doesn't appear to have got any worse and nicks/scratches and holes don't seem to chew out although the light rust does show pretty quick.
I would also suggest that as oils aint oils, ERPS aint ERPS.. MiL had an aftermarket fitted as part of a "defender" package on her 100 series when new.. reckon it must have been in reverse coz she had significant chassis rail cancer in under six months... since changed to ERPS brand and seems happy.

btw.. search before you get flamed..
