Front Wheel Drive Hilux (broken axles)

Post by LuxyBoy »

Broke my rear axles this weekend out at The Springs 4x4 (www.thesprings4x4.com.au)
Just wondering what is the best replacement for them :?:
Is there an unbreakable replacement :?: Cause Toyota marketing lies

They the best around :?:
It all gets a bit confusing with the different grades of chrome moly then the heat treated, cryo treated, cold rolled or cut splines.

yeah mate no worriens, i have a set of the trailgears, they look fairly decent, i was going to make my own as im a machinest but with the price of toolsteel chromo etc, it was easier to throw them on the order with the 5in kit.

i didnt really look around for other brands, as far as i know a few products are shared between the US companies, marlin, allpro etc.

but they look good parrlell all the way up to the spline so no minor diameter weak points. Also trail gear offers a lifetime warranty on them so why not. but if your not breaking axles alot, get a few spares from the wreckers would be a cheaper option.

I was at the Hammers this week for the tin benders jambo in the U.S.
The trailgear axles can take a pounding you would not believe, I
would'nt have believed it if I hadnt seen it.
They were holding up to 42" swampers & big numbers on rocks
we dont even see at Tuff Truck. Saw 1 guy break a locker & 1 break
a standard out put in the dual case's, but the axles were good.
Contact Locktup 4x4 as there the Aust. distributors for trailgear.
And if you guys ever get a chance to go to the U.S. make sure you
do it  It gets crazy out there..
