Post by mud4b »

i know this has been asked before and dont tell me to search but.....

i can fit the high pinion in the lux diff but can i run the steering bar(cant remember what it called) under that so all i have at the front of the diff
is the bar that goes to the box?

or is it better to just get the bundy diff.....

POS runs it as you described
you could possibly do it with hi steer arms mounted backwards (similar has been discussed on pirate) the then the tierod would sit above the diffcenter not sure how it works with accerman angles and hitting the brake calipers.
What about the steering arms off a 80 series??? will they mount onto a hilux?

so, in other words - I could change my hi-pinion to a normal hilux diff & would then need to change my steering to hi-steer or something?

yeah, you could use hysteer or maybe chaos's flat steering arms might be a better choice with the no lift bundy :?:

well.. just thinking of my plan

cause 4.88 high-pinion diffs are starting to get rare as hens teeth..

what would the price be to convert my steering to what you're talking about buddy?

here is your cheeper solution

get 75 series landcruiser steering

here are some pics of a 60 series, which works on the same princinple , but the 75 series steering arm castings are bigger - stronger

I wonder if the owner of this perfect stock 60 series cruiser ever thought his cruiser would become a part of outerlimits 4x4 tech!

this was parked 50m from my office

With this steering dont be worried about the tierod, just get a aftermarket tie rod

I have one on mine solid 30mm 4130, has had some major hits and still checks out against the straight edge  - i got mine from 4x4 Engineering (07) 3344 1181

You can see it, the rusty bits you see is all the rock rash

I destroyed 2 stock ones over a period of 12 months, didn't wheel much, put this on and never had a problem since

why?

we have established

you can use a hy-pinon from the numerous models bundera, 80 series etc

you can use the steering arms from either a 80 series or bundera

and this will all bolt into your hilux houisng which you already have

yes but the 80 series takes my crawl ratio down to 91.33.

but it will be better on the road at 100ks.
