Rover advice
Moderator: Micka
on a trip recently, there were two non-Datsuns, one Jeep and our Disco. Gawd it was good to see the Jeep:) The owner had had a Datsun previously (before it fell over), and decided to buy something different.....just as well there remain some people with independant minds still on the Planet. The Datsuns went Ok, most owners saying they had few problems except body mount failures, death wobbles, engine overheating issues and of course the need to lift them to the sky to fit 35 plus wheels to get any decent diff clearance and traction. This made them very unstable on road - in fact down right dangerous, especially with the death wobbles and lean factor. I'm sure this is not common though....drive train is tough though...no arguements there..
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times
mmmm lets see who takes longer to catch up rover owners or japanese engineers .
lets see range rover 4 wheel disc brakes in the early 70s
coil sprung range rover from day 1
a frame rear that a lot of comp trucks copy
nissan 4 wheel discs on late 88 early 89 gq
coil springs on the same 88.
a front end thats a direct copy of the rover so much that the only difference is the sping seat position
so im sorry but that gives rover owners about a 20 year head start
so i say rule britania

I used to have a landcruiser.. very boring.. everyone has a nissan or toyota
don't get me wrong.. the cruiser was great but nothing compared to the Rangie for on and offroad
If you like to be a sheep.. get a nissan or landcruiser
If you want a real 4x4.. get a ROVER!
End of the day..any 4x4 is great..offroading is a fun sport
My 2 cents
