What radiator in comp truck

Post by DIRTY ROCK STAR »

Guys here is the scenario.
i put an 80 series auto radiator in my comp truck. the top tank was plastic and split.

im now looking at other options.

the options im looking at are:
HQ-HZ-WB style oldschool holden radiator. 3 core
VN-VS Commo V8 radiator.
60 series radiator. i believe you can get these in a 4 core radiator.
GQ patrol radiator 3 core
possibly an R33 skyline radiator?

this is to go with my 304 holden V8. hence why im looking more to stick with the holden ones for ease of lining up the hoses.
at the moment i have a 16inch thermo fan mounted, i also have a 14inch if i could fit both.
i can fit a radiator of 77cmwidth and 60cm height. so jsut looking at options which are cost effective, metal tanks so i can solder/weld any future dramas, and something fairly common would be good.

so i would like some thoughts on what others have done to keep their trucks cool, especially with V8s in low speed environments.

MQ diesel patrols have a 3 core unit. top right hose and bottom left hose.

A au thermo setup fit absolutly perfect and work really well.

I have a spare one here if you want to play with one, Not the best rad but is okay
