Pros & Cons of 1982 stage 1 V8 land rover on lpg
Im thinking of buying a relitives Landrover, sounds good to me, completly stock, looking a bit worn out but i was thinking a camo paint job would make it look happy again. near 200000km on the clock. I know nothing about them, how they ride, perfomance, etc its located a few hundred kms away so i would like to know a little about them before i go have a look. Thanx for any help.

they're a nice old truck, had one myself - 109 styleside, not full of HP by any measns but sound good with some extractors, pretty good old donk - rolled mine 3 times ended up on roof (black duck valley), pulled the plugs towed it round for a couple of minutes then she fired straight away and never had a problem - kept driving for the rest of the day then home windcsreen and roofless and a bit scarred.
can't remember fuel economy but liked a drink, mine had twin strombergs, was a hard to get it tuned well to run fuel and lpg, didn't like side angles - hence the roll. pretty good on the beach.
you can always fuel inject it and stroke it for better power and economy down the track
how much they asking? would think in that condition probably $1.5-2.5K?

Yep there a top ol truck oil up the leaves and blead the breaks and your got good ride and resnobal stopping to fix the economy pull the high range gear from the transfer and fit the lower raito from the later 4 speed rangie invest in a grease gun and fit greasable shackells if ya can find a set or fit good quality polly bushes and longer mil spec shackels and you will have a beast the will hold 120K on the highway without the need of a fuel tanker in tow and if its a 5 door like my old bus ya can cart 10 fullsize adults in it as the wagons were regoed as omnibuses
Cheers
