Tyre Rubbin on Guard

Post by kidKEF »

I got a 94' Luxy, with OME 2" suspension and 2"Body lift.

I threw on some brand spankin new 33" x 12.5 x 15 BFG Muds.

The problem is I'm getting inner guard rub when i full lock the wheel to either the left or right, when I just go up a gutter or something little..

What's the best way to stop this from happening? I don't really want anymore lift on my Lux.. Im pretty sure my OME suspension has still got alot of life left in them so it's not like I need new Leafs.

Let me know what you guys recommend..

Cheers, Keith.

i think the accepted solution is to re-drill the spring perches about an inch so the whole axle moves forwards a bit.

Im trying to work out how to fit 32" tyres to my hilux WITHOUT a body lift- Cos trying to get the ARB winch bar lifted to suit the body lift will be a PITA

If a 6mm wheel spacer will be enough to stop the tyre rubbing, then let me know as I can supply them for $15 each plus delivery.

i rekon he would struggle re-drilling the spring perches on an ifs... its at full lock he is scrubbing so unless its rear steer, id sugest its on the front...

Just had a thought (and no, it wasn't lonely  ), is it scrubbing on the inner guard or the back of the wheel arch just in front of the body mount ??

If so, only way to solve this is some more lift or move the body mount and massage the inner guard..
