Daihatsu .. thats who and a rant

Post by meece4x4 »

Was waiting for my son to finish ATC drill practice this afternoon and decided to go down to the waterfront and have a quiet kip, came across this townie in a Iuzu Bighorn that had been hooning around the grass on a public reserve with his young 7-8 YO son, he had shot across the grass and slid into a ditch and had bogged himself up to his axles, i turned up as he was trying to rip the grass completely to mud and bury himself to china rather than stopping and readdressing the situation.

I was in two minds just to leave him bogged but he would have just churned the grass up even more in the end i decided to go help him out,

hooked up a couple of 4m snatch straps and managed to get my daihatsu close enough to him that I still had two wheels on the loose metal track that borders the park baring in mind my daihatsu weighs in at a lightweight 1300kg with a 1600cc EFI motor and the Bighorn comes in at what? around 2900kgs or so with a 3200cc diesel plus bogged to the chassis all up i reckon she was pulling close to 10000kg with mud resistance and the fact that i was pulling on a 45 deg angle so i minamised the damage to the park with my truck.

Image

you can see the mess in the background he made on a public park, if he hadnt had his kid with him i would have given him a piece of my mind, its idiotic behavour like this that gives 4wders a bad name, the people that turned up to watch me recover him gave me just as nasty look as they did the guy that did the damage.

as it was I reminded him of the 4wd Creed TREAD LIGHTLY!! dont F**KING HOON ON A PUBLIC PARK!!

grrrrrrrr rant off

If your 4WD park was up and running - you could have offered him an appropriate place to be a dickhead....

Maybe your partly to blame :D
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
