Limited slip diff or not?
Just wondering if the LN 106 Lux's came with a LSD or not?

Look at the oil filler plug on the housing, it will have a LSD OIL sticker, and yes, it's possible, my 105 did.
Those things (LSD part) are weak as piss, and don't last as LSD very long.
Also, could possible owners in the past changed it?
For those unsure and want to test if it's LSD, chock front wheel, jack up 1 rear wheel put it in neutral, hand brake released and see if the wheel will turn by hand. If not, then it's LSD.

Did you read the post above youBuggerific wrote:Speaking of LSDs... I have an 88 Troopy which apparently some Troopy's have LSD and some don't. Any ideas how to tell considering there's no stickers on the underneath anywhere.

3.0L turbo diesel, 4" lift, bud's front housing, track assasin cv's, air lokker front + Rear, beadlock'd 37 stickies, high steer, 15.5" travel ranchos, high pinion diff and coils on the rear
80,000 k's more like 8
they usually are worn out as you turn out of the dealership driveway....
jack one side of the rear up, in neutral, handbrake off (chock your wheels) take the jacked up wheel off and put a tourqe wrench on a wheel nut, it should take approx 80-90 foot pounds to break through the resistance of the lsd, the less it take the more buggered it is....
hint: see....my diff is broken honey.. i need to buy a locker......

This method will not work unless your l/s is in very good condition. Sorry but here is no way to tell unless you pull it apart.......v6hilux wrote:Look at the oil filler plug on the housing, it will have a LSD OIL sticker, and yes, it's possible, my 105 did.

Show me the money..SHOW ME THE MONEY
No but i took mine out and it took 1.3mm either side of the LSD to make it work properly...jonamaphone1 wrote:has anyone taken their standard lsd from their 106 to a diff joint and got them to tighten it? worth it?
It is easy to do, and works awsome when back in....
Mine didn't wear back out real fast....
But ended up going a lokker before too long.

89 model, but should be similar, though options might have become standard in that time.brad 93hilux wrote:yeh mine did, was a 1993 2.8 diesel....thehanko wrote:Just wondering if the LN 106 Lux's came with a LSD or not?

I guess, ill check it, if it works great if not... it doesnt matter if its lsd or not cause it acts like a non lsd either way
will jack it up when i get a chance.
