Transfer case help and options?

Post by big38l »

Just wondering what transfer case options I have that has a drivers side front output and is readily available! It needs to fit behind a 700r4 auto and handle power from a 454!

NP205?
Atlas?
STAK?

ORD 203/205 Doubler?

If it's going into the blazer staying with something North American might be easier (IE flanges etc) You also haven't mentioned budget, or the gearing you want.

Question is, will the T700R4 take the 454?

. Atlas and stak are pretty much out! Too much $! I want to get away with it reasonably cheap as it is only a tow rig and really will only need the t/case in an emergency! So therefore gearing is not a big thing! The 700r4 has handled the towing duties and the 454 fine so far and did it easy till the 12 bolt rear let go!

Nothing at the moment! I bought it a while ago and the previous owner had converted it to two wheel drive! Front diff is fine so I have no Idea why he did that! From the vin numbers it looks like it had a TH400 behind the engine and was one of the pain in the ass full time 4wd blazers! As the front D44 has no lockable hubs! That would mean the case was removed for that reason and so maybe he did it to save fuel? Who knows! I just need something as a replacement, I have the hub conversion for the diff! Just need a transfer!
