im getting a dump pipe 3inch straight through exhaust next week and the guy wonts $300 bucks to put it on a dyno and tune the thing after the new exhaust is fitted. Id would love more power (why did i buy an auto) but is it worth $300 anyone else ever had this done what sort of power we talking about.
cheers

spend the 300 on an exhaust pyrometer, install it and adjust the pump yourself using a bloody big hill as the dyno...also buy a boost adjuster and boost gauge off ebay for $80 and turn up your boost a few psi. If you want to go as far as you can, install an intercooler, which will allow more boost again, and more fuel too, resulting in maximum reliable power.

Normally I'd agree, only about an hour on the dyno to hook up and data log pyro and boost to adjust fuel. However, if you are changing boost and looking at pump timing, as both obviously have an impact on power, it can take sometime longer. The pumps can be a bugger to loosen and optimize the timing on, and can take a number of runs to find the optimum performance as timing, boost and fuel all effect the EGTs. I'd see what you are getting for your $300.00.
I personally find the point of maximum eficiency, which requires modifying boost and fuel and timing while logging EGTs untill we get maximum power with minimum temperature.
