ey just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between a g52 and a w56 gearbox

no to my knowledge they are both 5 speeds

G52- It will have two shifters. It uses a forward shifting t-case.
W56-It has a single shifter. It uses a top shifting t-case.
Both are five speed transmissions.

i dont understand my g52 box has 1 shifter and my transfer has one shifter i thought this would be the same for all
are the gearboxes the same ratios and will they fit in the same hole

They are both essentially the same with not much variance.

W56 G52

3.95 3.93
2.14 2.33
1.38 1.45
0.85 0.83

If you sig is relevant neither of these are strong enough for a V8 :D

thanks for the info i have a 7mge in my lux and i would like to get the revs down when cruising at 100 but still have a bit of torque down low i have 4:8 difs was thinking of going 4:5 but think i will loose the torque so thought the gearbox might of been the answer

Theres a box and transfer from a 100 1hz on ebay, it is an R151...stronger than W and G, better ratios in 1st and 5th too....bellhousings available from turbo supras....or....buy a 1ggze supercharger and put it on the 7mge... :)
