Does Firestone still make the Sat. Have looked around on 'web' and can't seem to find anything recent on them. Have heard their a good tyre...on the cheap....if their still around.

Cheers, Dano.

Unfortunately they aren't made anymore I believe. They were an awesome tyre had a set on my Sierra and were probably the best mud tyre I have ever owned, even better than Swampers. You may be able to source them from NZ as I think they still were being sold there a few years ago.

A few years ago you couldn't get new ones, but could get remoulds if you had some good crossply casings.

There is also a radial SAT retread pattern, I have a set. The side lugs aren't as deep as a crossply tyre but they still have the self-cleaning action that SAT's were famous for.

Yep, don't think they've been available for years and years. I had a set of 7.50's which went onto a car I rebuilt and sold (and is currently back in my shed for a new motor) They're a truly excellent tyre.

Out in interest though, the 7.50's were quite short for a 7.50 but wide.

MANY years ago, there were 3 9.00X16's ( over 35" tall) sitting in a tyre joint in vic. I don't think they were ever sold.
