Fitting winch to stock 80 series alloy bar??

Post by mike_nofx »

Hi people.

My little bro has just purchased a Magnum 8k winch and wants to fit it to his 80 series.
His bull bar looks like a stock alloy one, but has cut outs for a winch.

What we want to know is, whats involved in fitting the winch?

We're aware that an alloy bar is not ideal to winch off, and a steel frame/cradle is required. Has anyone got any pics of these frames? has anyone made one? He's going to make up his own cradle, but would be good if he could get some design ideas first.

Thanks in advance

I made one from alloy channel. Tried like hell to rip it out, hasn't moved yet.

eMail (not PM) me for pics.
