Feroza rear springs
Feroza rear springs
Ive been looking into putting a set of feroza rear springs in the rear of my lwb.
If I redrill the locating hole on the diff and u bolt plate and use the stock front mount I just need to weld on new shackle hangers.
Zuk springs are 50mm wide and feroza are 60mm but fit with the metal sleeve in the spring bush ground down, but it is a neat fit.
I think mock said he ran lux springs in the stock hanger, how does the wider spring affect movement, is it enough to worry about or could the spring eye be tapered down slightly for more free movement?
For anyone running this set up what is the distance between the fixed mount and the shackle mount.
Any other thoughts comments on this set up?

what do you want out of the different springs? More wheelbase, more lift, less lift, more travel, better ride? (what are u currently running?)
i run 60mm wide springs in the rear of my swb.
They still seem to have decent movement, I havent ground down the crush sleeve or spring-eye edges at all, so i guess they could probably have some more if i did. but i think im using pretty much all of the shocks travel at the moment anyway (standard shock mounts).
Have you looked into pricing custom packs rather than trying to make different ones fit?
Or keeping your current packs but replacing the main with a custom one? this would save $$$, and you can choose your length, width, centre-pin location etc etc
also, if you go to 60mm wide springs you will either need to make custom u-bolt plates with the holes pushed 10mm further apart or die grind out the holes in your stock u-bolt plates 5mm out each (so the u-bolts fit either side of the wider spring)...

i looked into feroza springs myself and opted for hilux front leaves - however these are 2.5" wide and far longer, so you will need new brackets, and shocks, and shock mounts, cos they flex like all hell =)
The best part though, is that hilux's are so common i can get a leaf pack for $90... theyre CHEAP AS! =)

Ive got spoa with crap shackle angle and I already have the feroza springs sitting here.
I could remove the tank cut my hangers off but then its a bit hard to get it somwhere to have new hangers welded on 20mm- 30mm forward on the chassis or I can just get the new hangers I have sitting the welded on behind the old ones and install the springs at home.
I have toy diffs so I already have wide u bolt plates, Im after somthing that is reversible without too much drama and gives me a nice shackle angle to run minimum up with max droop plus they should ride a bit smoother.
I thought about hilux fronts but arnt they 45" the feroza rears are 46" and I dont have to buy them.
I also looked into getting longer main and 2nd leaves for my ome packs but would cost as much as another set of springs ($300 plus) and customs hard to replace if it breaks.

nar, its cheaper to buy a stock height pack.... the lift isnt neccessary as you have to remove the load leaf anyway to get the ride soft enough. Cheaper the spring the better cos then they run flat as. Let the SPOA do the lift while the leaves do the flexing =)
