78 series VS 80 series front diff width

Post by turbo4t »

I have a coil sprung high pinion Landcruiser front diff here which measures 140cm between backing plates at the front making the rim mounting surfaces about 161cm apart. Can anyone confirm what it's out of. 6 stud rather than 5. I am thinking 80 series? Ta

Thanks, thought so but the bloke I got it off said he pulled it from a troopy which made me wonder. He does smoke a bit of waccy tobaccy though.

Anyone know what these things a selling for?

cheapest i have gotten a set front/ rear for was $300

it would be worth more as a center / axels cv's

has it got hubs or drive flanges ?

check the distance between the coil mounts i guess it could have been modded, one out the back measures 1000mm from centre to centre

Jeez, that's cheap considering the front use to go for $1K on there own.

Surely the centre would be worth $400 or so. Will probably strip it.

It did have FW hubs but they were gone before I got it. 60 series will go on though.

This is 1000mm as well
