Project Jimny... again!

Post by Squik »

Well, my little baby Oscar rolled out the driveway tonight to go and live in Armidale . The bloke who bought him will look after him though... and wheel him nice and hard

But...

I bought another Jimny!
White Series 1 (no airbags  ), only 89-thou kays, one owner, full books, immaculate condition inside and out, 3 month old 2in OME lift, 215 BFGs, roof racks and basket, towbar, nudge bar, lights, new sound system... all for $9500  We pick him up Sunday...

Let the buildup begin... again
First there was Stimpy... then there was DILBERT :D

Dual battery goes in next week followup by the air compressor (getting lockers later  )

First mod is a bodylift then we start thinking flexy-bits and a snorkel

Very nice... I hadn't seen it till last night (Podge's dad went and looked at it for me and grabbed it  ). Awesome... looks and drives like new...

...oh and it has brand new, top-of-the-range very fluffy, soft, warm lambskin seat seatcovers

Look forward to seeing what you do to it Squik, got a similar looking crystal baby myself. Lucky you got no airbags, no airbags = no bodylift restrictions.

Yep... that's why I was looking for a Series 1 :D

This one has already had the major 90-100thou dramas sorted (timing belt, crank seals, crank sensor, water pump, bearings etc). I have a strange feeling I may have a dicky shock on the rear (took a corner at speed and it rocked hard to one side without recoil)

On that note - the mags and 215 ATs will be up for grabs shortly - only 4), I have other alloys (I haaaaaate the Jimny ones with a passion) to go on and will be going up a size or two after the bodylift is done.

im doing the same to a s1 jimny i got for $2000.. just finished spraying black, just got a m13a for it (going a m15a from a swift)and turbo ... got heaps of pics but i have not put them up yet..

hit me up if your selling the wheels and tyres (if i can get them freighted) and the 2" lift..

cheers mark

Please can you do a 08 Diesel GV Build up, 4wdmonthly has one in the so called "shed" , it would help the public to see that the new zook is still a 4wd :D

That GV looks pretty mean. What is that at the bottom middle of the windscreen? Extra lights?

On that note, the wheels and rims will be up for grabs once the bodylift goes in next week, will keep you in the loop.

Only doing a 2+2 on this one... maybe go 2+4 later on. I've done the "biggest, baddest Jimny in the country thing"... over it now, nothing to prove ;)
Dilbert will just be a capable little tourer... I'm done with wrestling with transfer case swaps, gearing, guard cutting and 7inch plus lifts :D

Going with body lift, sus' lift, bigger rubber, snorkel, dual batteries, winch bar, lights, onboard air, slider bars (same as Stimpy's... OI! Surfection! :D )

I've mellowed somewhat ;)

That GV is AWESOME

Capable little tourer eh? How far are you intending to go without a trailer full of supplies?

I love suzuki's for what they are, but tourers aren't one of them.

Yep... I'm impressed :D

Unsure about the steering spacer, doesn't look like it will match up... has anyone got pics of what they've used on their Jimnys?
Stimpy's was a rectangular block with two holes... I don't have pics or measurements though.

TheOtherLeft: You obviously haven't got a Black Belt in the ancient Japanese art of "Stuff the Zook" ;)
You'd be surprised what you can get in a Jimny...

buy a roof rack... and remove the back seat (or one of them)...

You would be suprised what you can stuff in a zook - but it does sort of make it a 'one-person' tourer (gives me an excuse to get away from the wife/kids - "sorry honey, no room?")... ;)
'93 sierra WT, 2" BL, 3" TG springs, 2" zorst, CD, 235's
To do: xtractrs, bigger tyres, gears, etc

I think you will find Joeblow off here had the first ARB bar on his jimny ... his was used for the measurements\prototypeing I belive.
