1HDT oil filters genuine or ryco etc?

Post by croozaman »

Are the genuine ones any different/better than equivalent Ryco etc? What sort of price do they generally cost for a genuine one, Ryco ones here are around $26

genuine.

I have opened a number of aftermarket and genuine of those filters and the genuine are far better constructed and have a lot more media in them.

I suspect that the 'Sakura' brand japanese made filters are made in the same factory, probably on the same assembly line, however the media is different and there is slightly less of it.

Ryco is pretty good, but the genuine is fantastic by comparison. other cheapies are nasty.

.
I think the genuine ones are made in Japan where Sakura is made in Indonesia. We use tonnes of Sakura/FSA at work and haven't had any dramas but genuine is definitely better!

LOL... List price on the 90915-30002 is $37.50 + GST = $41.25.

They can be had in carton quantities for under $30 ea.

Remember, despite obviosuly better construction and materials, those 7 analsysis I did back to back showed no benefit from the genuine filter up to 5000km.

Yes, I am next testing for longer. Could take years. Anyone want to help?
