no reverse lights 91 lux - now hazards are a no go
Just bought the car and no reverse lights, im thinking maybe its the reverse light switch any one know where it is on these? theres a few wires coming out of the box but dont really want to go playing around with them.
anything esle it could be, i tried tracing the wires back, and they seemed to run into the cab with the stop, blinker etc wires, and i lost them there
Any help apprechiated

Horn Issue:
The horn and hazard fuse is one and the same. its in the fuse box under the bonnet behind the battery (not the one in the kick panel).
If they are both not working then you have a blown fuse or a power supply issue.
If you replace the fuse and your horn goes off for no reason - you have an earth issue. the horn is constantly attached to the positive wire, the button on the steering wheel just earths it.
If you replace the fuse and the horn still wont work, you can try using a screwdriver to arc the red/green terminal on the horn to the chassis. if its live your horn will work and its likely its your horn button that isnt working.
I had an issue with the earth point on my horn button, but also had a false earth somewhere in the system which meant the horn was permanently on, yet the horn button didnt work .
To by pass a false earth issue issue find the red/green wire out of the steering wheel bundle and cut it, attach a new wire from the steering wheel end and run that out to the negative terminal on your horn (it will be the same colour as the one you cut).
The issue with my horn buton waas hwere the brass pin didnt connect to the steering wheel, so couldnt earth. i just made it slide out more until it touched.
If the fuse was not blown, then test the power supply at the fuse. get a test light (or make one from a 12v globe and a couple of bits of wire) or get a voltmeter and test from one terminal to a good earth, then test the other terminal against a good earth. 1 should recive power. if it does follow the wire from the side that didnt show power and find the fault. if it doesnt then follow the system back to its source to find a fault.
Reverse Lights:
Use your test light/volt meter to check for charge in the lights wires as you trace it back. the wire colours should remain the same so you can probably tell if the wires on the gear box are the same by colour.
If you can describe exactly where the wires are and what colour they are i will look at mine and see where they go.
hope that helps.

lol about 5 places today and the same yesterday wouldn't even look at it, didn't get anywhere near checking the horn or reverse lights.
no standard anything, ive only just bought it, as is, and im finding more and more surprises all over the place.
i have got the reverse lights working, must have been a break in a wire somewhere between the cab and the lights, so ive run a new one.
as for the horn, from what i can tell i have 2 red wires coming off the horn, and they both seem to be negative, as in the test lights comes on when i connect each of them to the positive terminal on the battery, but nothing when earthed. The wire in the steering wheel is earthing at the steering wheel but am having a hard time following down the column.
Thanks again guys

got the horn working ended up just rewiring it.. with a new fuse
as for the hazards, the blinkers work when the hazards are are off but as soon as i push the button for them the blinkers go off, i have power to the back of the hazard switch, and when the blinkers are on, the wires flash in time with the blinkers (both sides accordingly) but as soon as i push the button i loose everything except the main power to the hazard switch
any ideas

hmmm,
its likely that what ever was the cause of your horn failing is also the cause of your haphazards.
no real suggestions unfortunatley, but if your horn didnt have power yet the fuse did, check out the wiring which runs inside the front right guard (just pull out the plastic guard liner) and see if anything jumps out at you, as from the fuse to the horn is only 1m of wire and should be a simple thing to find.
if thats not it (ie false earth in a related circuit) then im not sure.
When you say at the hazard switch you can record power, is this earthing from positve wire to negative wire? of from positive wire to another earth?
if the later works but the former does not, then it must be a wiring issue on the negative side.
