Hi Duncan,

I will tell the boys you said hi. Todd called late last night after the stage finished but I was too busy zzzzzzzzzz... His message said they got a flat tyre in the stage changed it and still came first in his group. But, all other groups have beaten them by around 10 minutes. Bloody tyres!!!

Talk soon Lis

Some of the front runners are starting to fall  It's starting to look like 2006 where there was only 33 teams still competing on the last day

Rohan & Wayne's group or Kym & Rob's group would have been doing the night Brumbies Run last night and there is some nasty cliffs and ravines out in that paddock.

As long as everyone's ok.

I think the podium placings will come down to Todd/Ivan and the Muppets staying breakdown free in the rocks as teams like Hoon, Greeny and Coops have survived the rocks and will now push hard in the mud/sand.

Goodluck to all.

I spoke to Shayne last night and his group was heading to Nundooka (Group A), so Rohan must have rolled at Poolamacca because he's in Group B.

Was talking to Andrew last night and he said the same thing Fish about them having finished all the vehicle punishing stages. As we know the rocks claim a lot of casualties.

Good to hear Rohan and Wayne are ok.

Yeah Joe I reckon Pete & Andrew will be pumped to push even harder in the mud/sand knowing the rocks are behind them until Saturday

Here's some news from the OBC website........

- We had previously said Norm and Clay had retired, but it was a miscommunication back to us and they are still in although they have not competed for the past day and a half and still have repairs to carry out.

- Rohan Canavan and Wayne Smith had power steering problems, but they very swiftly replaced the unit to rejoin their group for the night stage on Warn Poolamacca, only to tip over on the stage only 300 metres from the start  They are currently awaiting a tow back to Broken Hill and will undergo repairs tonite. Bad luck for these boys but at least they are ok.

- Tonite also saw Greg Scanlon join the list of casualties with his vehicle suffering from auto transmission troubles at ARB Nundooka :bad-words:

There is more updates on the OBC than those above.

i just got off the phone with al, he and warren are back in broken hill getting warrens car and the trailer. they were doing the night motorkhana, and came over one of the dunes a touch fast, car got airborne, landed on its nose, the back came over and ended on it's roof.

they are both ok, but the car is a mess. he said he didnt want to retire this way, so once back in melbourne they will asses their options.

as for now, they're going to load the car on the trailer, then head over to viewmont to join the spectators.

cheers

I heard from celia and eugene (car - group B )
last night as they headed through Broken Hill

Reported group B had a few cars out for repairs, also been a couple of roll-overs.
Course is very tough. but they are having the time of their life.
And say that 'group B is the best group! couldn't have hoped for a better bunch of people to compete with' in their final year in the comp.

Telling me, absolute gentlemen (and of course gentlewoman) of the sport. another few teams like them and i am sure there would be plenty of female drivers giving it a go!

I raced alongside them in the ss2/3 last year, good fun!

Just got off the phone to Wayne.
He and Rowan are both pretty sore today.
They were doing 90ks inot a wash away.
Broke the front trailing arm when they hit th bottom hit the other side and evertually ended up on the drivers side.
Rowan is in worse condition than Wayne because Wayne dropped the door on his head when he was climbing up through the passenger side to get out.

So 2 cases of whiplash and a crush injury.
Reckoned the car could be repaired and raced but Rowan was finished for this one.
What, haven't you ever done lines of International Roast off a hookers back with $100 notes?

Bugger about Al's car. Sure made a mess. Hope they are both ok.

And just think wayne was asking a week before the out back about some heavy duty arms but couldn't get them to him in time. As long as there both ok and ready to race again at Cliff Hanger.
