Left my new '99 Rocky F78 idling to open the driveway gate. Door clicked shut behind me on the incline and left me without backup keys or remote
Eventually unlocked by 'specialist' without damage - Rocky piecefully idling for 40 mins and nicely warming up. Must have offended car somehow - still learning how to keep this character happy always!)
I'd be grateful to learn how to disable the automatic doorlock feature on startup, without disabling all remote central locking? For now I try to always have a window open before starting up.

Is it an aftermarket alarm system? Seems very technical for a standard Rocky option.
If it's an aftermarket setup, the control box in your dash should have dip switches or similar to change these settings.

Sounds like an anti hijack feature on an alarm that isn't set up correctly- like HOtfourok said. They're supposed to have extra inputs to prevent that sort of thing happening (eg. doors will only lock when the brake pedal is first pushed, or the auto lock won't work if a door is open when the car is started).
If it is an alarm feature check that all your door switches are working properly.

All the aftermarket alarm systems I have ever had, have ignition barrell turn sequences to disable/enable different features.
This is also how the NRMA guys get past alarm systems when the remote control stops working. (sshhhhh trade secret......)
If you can find out what alarm system it is, you could probably find out off the manufacturer, or as we say... Google It!!!!

Thanks guys.
Will check this out in the morning. Have never owned a car with remote central locking before. The old Safari LDV (Patrol in Oz) hasn't even a bonnet release inside also drivers door lock can obviously not be engaged with door open.
Got the Safari new in '82 and it has had '88 BMW and Honda ('83 and '91) companions since then. Now Rocky although not brand new, sofar promises to be worthy successor for Safari .
Besides other virtues of the Rocky, impressed by the number of grease nipples it has standard, more than the Safari. Had to fit some on Safari and grease at least every 1000- 2000km, specially props and leafs front and rear. Wish I could keep it, could be a great mate for Rocky
Nice day to you all.

Have to sort out blown Gauges fuse and so also looked at wiring of security system. Must be aftermarket because wiring's been cut and patched all over, mess. I'm too scared to open the black box right now and can't get close enough to ID it. Other original fixtures etc. seem brand new still Previous owner had CD and Spots installed - also sub-standard wiring job.
Can't imagine why installers would mess up obvious integrity of original design... btw we're presently having a re-run of Stallone's 'Rocky' on TV, not a fan but maybe car takes it and dishes it out as well!

While fixing another problem, found Central Locking System is aftermarket Sanji Intellica Vision CDL. According to Website, to reprogram the Anti Hijack feature you have to press a hidden switch at some stage. Unfortunately you have to be registered before downloading the installation manual and I still have to trace that hidden switch
