Post by Ye Olde Rangie »

Hi all i have a 1981 2dr range rover and after removing some wires that had nothing to do with or connected to anything i now only have full beam when holding the stick back. This also has duel batteries and a 4.4 p76 engine in it if makes any difference. any help is good as i keep missing out on night drives

Do you have parking lights?

My guess it's the small light switch.
It supplies power to the brown wire input to the hi/lo switch.

However if you hold the hi/lo switch back (flash) then power to lights comes from the big purple wire which is permanently powered from the battery via a fuse.

No its a stubby lever same as the driving light stalk on the rh side, they have a habit of burning out and melting the shitty plastic bit that holds the brass contacts.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.
