diff ratios

i bought a diff centre and was wondering how you tell what the ratio of the centre is do you count the pinion teeth and crown wheel and devide it by something or dose it have it writtin some where i really need help as i dont want to put it in if it is the wrong ratio? how many teeth should a 4.11 diff centre have on the pinion and crown wheel?

count how many teeth are on the Crown Wheel and divide by how many are on the pinnon :D

The number you come up with may not be exactly 4.11:1. If it's anything like many diffs, it may calculate to 4.111111111111:1. They are known as 4.11.. Cruisers have 37 (crown wheel teeth) : 9 (pinion teeth) which is the 4.11:1 commonly used in cruisers... :cool:
