Where to get spares for Warn 9000lb in Sydney?

Post by Surfin Alec »

Where is the best place in Sydney to get either the plate with the brushes or atleast the springs that hold the brushes on a 9000lb 4.6hp motor?

I got mud / rust in mine a brush spring has snapped. All the brushes were siezed solid and the brushes may have just ben slighty rubbing.

Anyone got a burnt out motor or parts laying around???

Macquarie 4x4-Vineyard 45877114, speak to Duncan. In previous times, Duncan bought a lot stuff from the Winch Doctor (Bruce Poole-Ateco).

Otherwise ARB Moorebank speak to Firthy.

Sorted, I did the ring around to those mentioned and others and found nothing in the way of small parts. Either buy a new motor or the complete brush assembly for close to $200. No thanks.

So I started visiting the local auto sparkies and found a guy with a shait load of bits from all sorts of staters and alternaters and he rekoned the XD9000 motor looked the same as an old Lucus M20 starter. So he scrummaged in the old Lucus bin of bits and presto, 2 springs that I need (I only need 1 but I got 2 for justins sake).

Cost me niks too...
