I too have the 80L and as you were told by waeco temp is taken from the bottom of the freezer section. I have to run mine at -15, sometimes -20 to keep the drinks cold. I've experimented with removing 1 of the barriers between the fridge/freezer and running it at a higher temp. Mixed results, need to fiddle more.

Top unit though, mines been to hell and back on a few recent trips, gone over some really rough roads and hit some big washouts and she kept on kickin. My only tip is make sure you keep the lids on drinks tight, we had a water bottle unscrew and empty out in the freezer. Went to get a drink and it was at +5 and running flatout due to the water in the bottom of the fridge!

Cheers

I have had the 80l for about 2 yrs now, i found in summer when i want to run the fridge/ freezer replace the lower partician with a pre-frozen ice brick, run the freezer @ -16 ............perfect.

When driving, set the power control to HI - economy when stoppped.
Invest in the fridge bag if you dont already have it.
