Redzook, I can't see if you have any anti wrap device or not, but either way I would fill in the ends of your spring perch's, under normal excaleration and braking (not to mention 3rd gear chirpy's) the ends will crush causing the U bolts to loosen, and no one like a sloppy rear end. and your springs will be toast even faster.
Peter.
Peter.
Yes filling in the end of the perch to stop it being crushed is a gooood idea (been there done have th scars from welding splatter after replacing one)

Bummer - looks like i'm a bit tall:
Rear - 7" = 177mm (axel to chassis)
Front - 6" = 152mm (axel to bump stop mount (not the bump stop))
Note: the car sits a good inch and a bit taller now due to the lighter body (this also means the rear cannot be compressed onto it's bump stops anymore). I plan to remove some more leaves from the spring packs in early january - i'll update the details once this is done.

Please explain?
I gather you mean spring lift plus body lift?
Be carfull Redzook, Greg can be a bit touchy when you call his rig "tall" he prefers to run with the lowriders.
Peter.
thats why i am givin it to him thats 1 reason why he dosent like spoa
he reckons the cog is to high where his cog would be higher then mine

Thanks redzook. Though i should point out that cog and total height are not the same thing - i.e. if i had a 10m tall cb arial on my car would that make my car cog 11m above the ground - no (unless the areal had a big ball of concrete at the end of it of course)...
I'll have to come up to nsw one day with my car so we can compare notes

Gerg how much wider would your Zuk be than stock ??? Mine is not wide enough for it's height at the moment ... IMHO despite the fact it only about a 4 inch spring lift now ..
I wonder how much lift they have if you include the tyres .. IE if your have a 4 inch spring lift and run 31's you have:
A to much lift for that tyre size and
B another inch and a half or so fo lift from the tyre itself ...
So you have 5.5 inch lift ...
How tall are you from the ground to the chassis rail ..

i had 2" body lift (which would only raise the cog a little bit) and 4" tyre lift (26" to 34") which would raise the cog a fair bit, but the wheels and tyres were much heavier. i was about 3-4" wider. i reckon i would still need to be another 2" wider to follow the '1.5" width for every 1" lift rule'.

Yes i have to agree that my car isn't as wide as it should be according to the rule... but on the plus side, the cog would have to be lower than before because we have swapped the body for a lighter soft top, and also stripped the body down to it's bare essentials... the battery is lower than normal, but the fuel tank is higher etc... oh how the list goes on.
I guess the best way to measure the cog test would be to jack the car up under it's tyres until it falls over - this would tell you the max angles it can drive, and also where the cog is. you could then repeat the test front to back etc..
