1KZ Alternator Size

Post by gotoy »

Greatly appreciate if anyone could tell me the factory alternator size for a 1kz engine. I heard it 90A.

the alternator spec will have more to do with the vehicle it's installed in and less to do with the engine. it could be anything from say 70A to 120A, depending on the vehicle and its other eletrical/electronic loads.

In the 3.0TD surf, its an 80A alternator, in the 95 series prado its 100A, And i THINK in the 120 series its a 120A.

Im also pretty sure the 1HZ Alternator will bolt up without any problems, and i know thats a 120A- I'll have to rip the alternator out of the drill rig on the weekend and see if it fits the 1KZ in the shed.
