89 Hilux Steering Shaft...?

Post by Lowisuzu »

this might be a stupid question, and i tried using the search function, doesnt appear to be working atm :?

When i lowered the Body of my hilux from a stupid 5inch to 2inch, it made the steering not all fit back together properly. it seems the steering shaft is now too long, but i cannot find any way to make it shorter, the slip joints in it seem to be as short as they can be, i cant see any aftermarket steering shaft extender which i would have thought it would have needed if you raised the body 5inchs... :?
all the steering components appear to be stock. although i could be wrong.

any hints?

Sounds like someone cut and add a piece to the steering shaft. If there is no uni joint at the firewall which I dont think there was on that model you may have to get a new shaft or cut and shut the one that is on it.
