If i was to move the shackle mounts(done sum search).
I will get additional flex right?
Now i was thinking to keep my 2"king springs, but because of my massive shackles i think i dont get as much movement then stock cos the spring is stretched full and shackle is on a slight angle.
So its ok for the rear, move it forwards an inch at a time to adjust...
But for the front? Would it be ok if i moved the shackle mount back? So it sits the same height as the rear?
my shocks are longer then normal, or the commodore ones i think. 2" lift they bottom out, hence why went for long shackles cos i didnt know what to do. Trying to sort it out.
Thanks 4 any help

Extended shackles are only a good mod when used with longer leaves. You may get lift but I don't think thats the point. If they are straight up and down they wont improve flex. They need to fitted with longer leaves or move shackle mounts so they are on an angle.
you want your shackle at as close to 45* as possible, this way youll have equal compression to extension out of the shackle alone... if you're going to relocate your spring mounts, might as well do RUF or something at the same time and get more flex =)
Keep in mind - if you do this it wont be legal unless you get an engineer to sign off on the welds etc...

The worst thing about censorship is ███████.
i have found (with experiments) that 45 isnt the ideal angle as the sierra tyre/diff combo isnt enough weight to pull the spring down to a nice curve.alien wrote:you want your shackle at as close to 45* as possible, this way youll have equal compression to extension out of the shackle alone... if you're going to relocate your spring mounts, might as well do RUF or something at the same time and get more flex =)

i have moved by front springs rear mount back about 20mm to give the shackle angle less angle so its about 60-70*. and it flexes alot better.
