Shackle travel

Post by chimpboy »

The drop shackles thread got me thinking about an idea I had a while back for a bit of extra leaf travel without extending shackles.

(It really would be just a bit, don't get me wrong.)

Idea is to replace the standard bushings with hard ones that have an off-centre hole and that can rotate.

There might be wear issues... but there might not. You'd lose some height but you could get it back with slightly altered springs or dare I say it a slightly longer shackle.

Stupid? Already done a million times? Did I miss an obvious problem? Not worth the hassle for such a small gain in travel?
