Kizashi 3 Concept Grabs New York Limelight

27 Mar, 2008

Suzuki was the undoubted star of the New York International Auto Show last week with the unveiling of the latest incarnation of its exciting Kizashi 3 mid-size car.

Due to arrive on Australian shores late next year, the Kizashi 3 concept car revealed the sports sedan version of a vehicle line-up that will also include a crossover sports wagon.

“The unveiling of Kizashi 3 is an important day in the continuing rise of Suzuki in this country,” said Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers.

“We are one of the fastest growing brands in Australia despite competing in less than 50 per cent of the market, and the addition of a superb vehicle like Kizashi will help confirm Suzuki’s status as a significant force in the country.

“With more than 2.3 million sales last year, Suzuki is truly a global brand and the imminent arrival of Kizashi represents a landmark in our mission to consolidate Suzuki as a major player in Australia.”

Kizashi 3 follows in the footsteps of the Kizashi concept unveiled at Frankfurt in 2007 and the Kizashi 2 crossover sports wagon shown at Tokyo last year.

The closest to production variation of the Concept Kizashi series, Kizashi 3 embodies Suzuki’s interpretation of the sport sedan segment.

The ‘super sport’ identity – a core component of the Suzuki brand DNA – is complemented by the vehicle’s overall mission to provide powerful, refined urban performance.

The front end of Kizashi 3 clearly demonstrates the strength and style of the first ever Suzuki mid-size car, with sharply fashioned headlamps emphasising the sensation of forward motion.
Kizashi 3 is powered by an advanced 3.6-litre V6 with plated cylinders – a weight and friction saving technology evolved from Suzuki’s WRC and MotoGP development teams.

Producing 221 kW of power, Kizashi 3 drives all four wheels via a silky smooth six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

“The Kizashi 3 concept is no mere exercise in style; this car reveals the direction we will take with our production car.

“This represents the next stage of our evolution and growth, both in Australia and around the world.

“As Suzuki prepares to celebrate 100 years in 2009, Kizashi 3 has shown there’s never been a more exciting moment in our history,” said Devers.

won't look too bad with a number plate on it. Most current audi's have a similar grille that also needs a plate to be finished off.

Not a bad looking car at all though.

i'd doubt AWD would be standard - prolly in the deluxe model... the styling is very nice, although the original concept looks way better:

Your thoughts have been taken in to consideration by the design team and they have come up with the following option. We hope you are satisfied with the new grill design.

Aw yeah! drop lights are all the rage these days, definitely should be on the production model! i especially like the body coloured fog lamps though - thats sure to be a hit with the young'ins =P But the clinching feature for me is the personalised billboard stuck to every roof with the drivers name on it - fantastic!!! Thankyou suzuki design team!!!
