Hi guys,
am about to purchase a 1999 NL Pajero but can't seem to find where the engine number is. Can anybody shed some light on this for me please?

NL Pajero engine number location

According to the Haynes workshop manual, the engine number for the V6 engines is "stamped into the drivers side lower engine block where the transmission meets the engine".
I have seen mine once (a 2000 NL), and thought it was a funny place to put it, but looking from the top, there is nowhere else it could possibly go and be seen without totally dismantling the engine.
