4L80 transfer case

Post by killalux »

Hey,
What transfer cases come behind the chevy 4l80e (behind an LS1) from factory??
And are any of them a right hand drop front output to suit a toyota.

I would prefer to use a complete chevy drivline behind my LS1 rather than using adapters if it is affordable and possible.

I think they're all going to be NP chaindrives. I don't think there's any really useful transfers behind the 4L80. Best bet might be a Hummer NP242 (?) as these are pretty heavy duty, and were native behind 4L80's... BUT - they're all LHS drop (Chevy/Hummer etc)

the atlas and the stak transfer cases mate up to the 4L80E
a new transfer is better than anything second hand you can get them in left and right hand drops.

X2.

Wouldn't bother with a stock chevy NP case unless it was a 203/205 doubler.

i think the atlas is a little out of my budget, I might just use the patrol or cruiser transfer.
I didn't really want to spend more than the price of an adapter (around $1000)
