How many SPOA Rocky owners on the forum these days?

Hey guys i'm planning to run SPOA on Hilux axles in the near future.
Just want to find out those who run SPOA how u guys went about setting them up.
Also how do u find them offroad and does it feel super tippy....

I just can't make up my mind now to run SPOA or SUA on the Rocky.

STAY SUA :!:
you can run 37s on a rocky with 3" sus. and 2" bodylift. guard trimming etc

Im messing around soa because i am goin to be running 40s later on.

Mine was SPOA from the factory :D

The few Rocky's I've seen with SPOA look like they would lie down in a light breeze :?

definately.

hilux axles are only 50mm wider and your goin at least 150mm up.

ill measure my truck tomorrow for height, width, and bottom of the leaf pack.
if somebody can measure a kinda standard one to compare SUA-SOA ;)

hilux axles are only 50mm wider and your goin at least 150mm up.

Personally I think it looks heaps tougher pre-spoa. And with the black bar work. Each to their own tho :D Should even out when you get 40"s

Next part i was wondering if i can do without a rear track bar when i do an SPOA as i plan to run 2 inch lift aftermarket Ultimate suspension leafsprings.

Also i'm wondering if i can mount the rear shock absorbers in the original position?

My mechanic still prefers to mount it Hotchkiss style just like the Hilux. One in front and one backwards.

So what would u go for?

I know some would prefer to run inverted but i plan to use back my existing shocks.

So what say u guys?

Another thing, i just realised i've a spare IFS rear coil Toyota Surf/ 4 runner. I was wondering would it be an OK idea to use that axle on the rear of my rocky but use the original LN106 axles in the front.

I wonder what would that do in terms of handling and offroad performance? Or just stick with the front and rear original LN106 axles?

I heard that apparently u can make the front LN106 axles wider if u can find a certain toyota hub on it. Any ideas on this rumours?

I know that a common mod is to use the 4runner rear coil setup on the hilux axels as it saves on designing a new setup. You should be able to find info on it.

That's going to be a big lift with 2" lifted leaves and SPOA :lol:

i think you would be better using standard hilux packs all round. Anything with no lift. keeping the overload leafs may reduce
need for a trackbar

Change to / \ for more flex- lose road manners. fuel tank stopped me from doing this.
I get the feeling the shocks u have now will be too short
