Water problem

Post by Dash007 »

Hi all,
I have found a water leak :bad-words: . I think it's coming from the water pump. Is the water pump the one at the bottom of the motor (pully)?? If so how much is to much to replace ?

I have a 3lt v6 NJ

Cheers Darryl

the water pump is on the front of the motor behind the timing belt covers, if you got water coming from the bottom of the main crank pulley that would be a good guess I've just replaced mine http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ftopic139943.php
cost me a $230 but I got a good deal on the pump this will help too

How many K has the truck done?

I would consider doing the timing belt and the oil seal at the same tim.

The belt has to come out to replace the pump.

You can buy the pump in front only or complete. The front only option mean's you dont get the rear backing plate ( it depends on where the leak is comming from.) this is a lot cheaper)

No, T/belt was not done long ago.

I will change the thermostat as I think it's original one.

Let's hope there are no bolts left over when I put it back together :D

Cheers Darryl
