Front pinion bearing, sierra or vitara?

Post by raqmup »

Morning guys, doing my locker seal in the front diff tomorrow as it's no worky atm and was wondering if you can upgrade the components for a longer lasting one than the earlier ones? I've been advised to upgrade it from what's in there as it will just happen again and again. Obviously it would be from Arb if it's available- just need to know what to ask for is all...
I'm not up on every term and inner workings of the locker, so if I haven't covered something properly, ask away...

My locker is the one for 5.11 vitara centers if that makes a difference and was fitted about 4 years ago.
Also doing front pinion bearing while it's out. What will I need if I've got sierra widetrack front housing and vitara center? Sorry for semi-noob style questions, just haven't done these repairs before.

Cheers, Mike ;)

you'll find its the small locking tab on the carrier bearing cap pushing down slightly on the seal housing, the tab needs to be bent slightly.

Thanks Joe, makes the operation easier than expected :P
Any idea of which bearing I need to source for the front pinion?

Cheers, Mike ;)
