GU Rear bar and drawers

Post by roverrat »

Wow I knew WA was expensive but holy crap batman ... Been wanting to get back storage drawers and a rear bar for the GU, so off I toddle yesterday and get a quote.

Black Widow 2 drawer with fridge slide and longer rear door brackets for the GU .... $2950 installed

Outback (WA made) Rear bar with dual wheel carrier and hilift bracket .. $2900

nearly 6K for 2 items ......

Does seem even remotely competitve with eastern state prices? If not I'll wait till I go over east at xmas and get some then.

For those brands its comparative prices.

Good quality storage systems in VIC for a GU wagon can be sourced cheaper (around $2500) for full customn system far better design than Outback.

Opposite klock have the best value rear bar for GU, normally under $2,000. They are lighter than Kaymar becasue they do not have the towbar included and use the factory towbar. I have a Kaymer and have had an opposite lock on a previous vehicle.

So thats $4,500 for the two items.

How basic were the drawers tho? The only extras we got over std was the Fridge Drawer. I know everything costs more.

two draws side by side and fridge slide on top of drawer on drivers side (and you beaut door hinge things that allow GU doors to open 90 degrees), thats it

Ill find the exact cost tonight.

We got the door extension thrown in (Its only $20), & our fridge slide is on the passenger side but that shouldn't change the cost.

Edit: Just checked it was just over $2100 & I installed.

$2300 is standard price however.
