still not to sure about lifting my vit

Post by sally_o »

i have a 96 swb soft top vit,i just had an OME 1 inch lift added.i want to put 1 inch coil spacers and a 1 inch body lift in.I have read through the bible and it is my understanding that this would be 1 of the cheapest and most effective way of getting the most out my vit without having the hassle of lengthening and strenthening everything.guess im just making sure that i got it right before i do it and run into hassles,or 12 months later realise that if i had got this done first or had something else done at the same time i could have saved money.
any advise on this would help.

Dont bother with the body lift, just do it all suspension. That way if you got a bull bar or plan on getting one wont have to have it modded...

OME kit with new longer front Struts.

Dobinsons also do a proper suspension lift with longer front struts as well.
..wrench, wheel, wreck repeat..

.. cool..bull bar was on the agenda but most bars that i have seen an inch body lift doesnt look like it would make any difference.front stuts r brand new so not to keen to replace them.
from what i can tell, most ppl seem to have to do a lot more mods once they get over 2 inches.thought that if i only lift the suspension 2 inches then i wouldnt have to lengthen brake lines and it wouldnt put my cv's under to much stress, also wouldnt i have to buy new struts and shocks if i was to lift the suspension 3 inches?.was also looking at flipping my front stut mounts.
basicly i was only going to lift it 2 inches on the suspension(cheap to get the spacers and it looks like the OME struts and shocks will have enough length) and was not going to worry about the body lift because i didnt think it would be worth the money it was going to cost but after reading the bible again im thinking that 1 inch body lift wouldnt be to much on top of the 2 inch lift but as informative as it is i am still a little confussed about wether the models mentioned in there r the same as mine (guessing the 92 swb should be).

all depends on what tyres you want to use. unless u want to run 31s then why do a body lift??? which then leans towards gearing isues etc etc. id stick to max 235 75 15s and spring lift.
