Ok just wondering what may have caused this......my fan won't work on number 1 on either recycle or fresh....is it an easy job to fix?

The car is still under statutory warranty so I will be calling them today to fix it but just curious more than anything as to what it might be. It just suddenly stopped.

Sounds like your fan resistor has blown the coil for no.1 fan speed.

You can buy these from Daihatsu about $60 and it has to be original to because there is no such thing as an after market fan resistor I dont think.

The fan resistor is located on top of the fan's air box. From memory you need to take out your glove box to get to it.
