I've seen Warn 9.5XP's used in comps, faster under load than a standard hi-mount, not as fast without load though. By the time you've bought one of those you're not far off a hi-mount though.

the car i navi in runs a low mount.

to slow, theres no point unless u want to modify it with twin motors and all that.

it now runs 24v through it. Its noticeably quicker but still slower than the hi mount overall (from the time u spool it out, and finish your winch pull). Its harder to match the winch with wheel speed too, have to keep stopping to let the winch catch up

i knowof a few lowmounts which are faster in every respect compared to my fully modded highmount, and will be going on sale soon bya guy up here called Russel Mason, you just need good batteries or else they won't work under heavy loads. and talking to the people from melbourne at the OBC will be cheaper than what they are paying for high mountsto be modified. as for speed about 4 to 5 times faster than24v 6hp high mount easy

Yeah i'll second that, by far the fastest winch i'd ever seen, worth looking into when he's ready to start selling them. Seems to me like a very upgraded alternator would be needed too though.

using a warn as main part so it can still run in all the comps but is getting his patents all sorted, i know kym is getting one for morocco and i am trying to get one for start of next year if not this year cause he just blew his motor up driving to round 2 of XWC so he will be chasing money, so i might be getting one earlier will let every one know when it is all sorted, im supposed to be wiring his shed in the coming weeks so it should help him get the lathe in there.
