GU lights wiring for gauge

Post by bambam »

Hi Trendsetters,
can anyone tell me the easiest place to tap into the lights circuit for the gauges I just fitted to a pillar pod?
My lights wire is dangling down next to the accel pedal waiting for a home, but everything is so damn neat and japanese under the dash I don't have a clue!
Cheers.

mine come off the dimmer so i can control the brightness on the guages at the same time.

but without a dimmer, maybe you could try off the loom that comes down the steering column?

I tried tapping off the dimmer when I fitted mine up and be damned if it didn't work arse about face to the dash.

Couldn't get power off either of the other 2 wires so I gave up and found one elsewhere.

Righto guys, thanks for the advice but getting the dimmer switch out without breaking something looked too hard, so I removed the plastic shroud from the steering column. A multimeter found that the blue with silver dashes wire from the light switch stalk gave me the lights power I needed.
Cheers.
