Hi guys im new to this site, but form wot ive seen looks like theres a few pepole on here with a wealth on knowlege.
I live over in Wa and theres not too much avalible over here in respect to information and support for the more custom, rather than off the shelf rigs.
Iv been slowly building up my 93 patrol coil cab ute for a while now and its time for a roll cage. I am trying to build it to conform to CCDA and CAMS spec, i have the CCDA manual and cage diagrams and have the CAMS spec's for cages, both are quite simmilar. My main aim is to build the cage so i can enter as many competitions as possible,i.e meeting the requirments. I have read the CCDA manual and have a few questions.
1st .. I would prefer to have a full exo-cage however the drawing i have seem to show only internal set ups. are exo-allowed?
2nd... If i have a exo-cage do i need an internal cage aswell?
3rd... If i do need a internal, is is possible to cut holes in the cab wall and pass the lateral roll bar through the cab wall and fix to the main hoop outside the cab? thus not requiring a internal main hoop.
the thing is as some of you may know theres is STUFF ALL room in the cab of a ute and to have internal roll cage in there would be very tight.
also if anyone has and tips for set up of cage or pics can you please post up.
I am still in planning stage but as soon as i start i will post up the build up.
cheers Ash.

Roll cage---wot a mission
Right spoke to the WA DPI today wot a fu*n load of bullshit..... You are allowed a 6 point CAMS approved roll cage however the vehical would need top be registered as a class B ralley and only be allowed to be drive to and from events. The only roll cage protection you can have other wise is a 4 point which consists of a main hoop and back stays. they do also say however you can have a 4 point which "for offroad use only" can convert to a 6 point, however to my knowlege this type of cage would not meet the ccda spec??????? it would pretty much mean you would bolt in the front hoop and lateral bars in one peice back onto the main hoop to give you ur 6 point cage.
Dose anyone know if this would be accepted??????
worst thing is these are the new NCOP(national code of practice) regulations which apparently ALL states and territories have adopted and are bringing in, so my adive to all is get all ur modification done before your system changes to this peice of shit NCOP which pretty much limits you to having a normal car or an unlicenced car... pretty crap HEY!

3. got this off a thread ages ago. If I remember correctly it had an internal main hoop but not sure if it had (internal) diagonals or maybe just taxi bar. Not sure if it is any good to you but it helped me make my mind up

I am taking some time off work next week to build my ccda internal 4point in a 1990 gq half bubble cab. gonna make sure I take plenty of pics to hopefully help other DIY'ers
