It just seemed there where different rules for different people.
Don't get me wrong I do appreciate the time spent organising and running this event, it might have just been lack of man power at this round with a few of the usual crew not there.

Even I had 3 decent attempts at the end of track 2 and then got told I still got another one even though I was in the same spot, was surprised about that.

Not naming any trucks but one at the end of track 2 had about 6 attempts in the one spot
Thanks for you kind supporting words Dan.

It people like you that make me wonder why I even bother assisting with events.

All the respect I had for you is now gone. As far as I am concerned you were nothing but a pain in the ass all week end, with you weedy little voice always complaining about something in the back ground.

A lot of people sacrifice a lot of time for you to have your 15 minutes of glory.

I don’t know how much respect you have with the other competitors, but from you comments on the week end, you are two faced and they should all be weary of you.

Mate wake up to you self!

There is an official method of protest, if you have a problem use it.

All I'm after like everyone else is a fair and even playing field for all competitors. If I wasn't competing I would love to help you guys score the tracks, when others got stuck I helped as much as I could just like you did when I got stuck.
Was I the only one you could hear?

If we as competitors want anything to change how about we go to the club meeting next week and have our say to the club and committe?

We can type it here, AS THE CLUB SITE IS STILL DOWN, or we can all go the meeting, have our say and see them, listen and hear what the have to say and hopefully get some where.

There is a General meeting for Tough Tracks next week to be held at the Monte St International Hotel/Pub Slacks Creek. It will be on the 18th of June 2008 starting at 7:30pm. For some it will be a distance to travel but make the effort! I live past Jimboomba but I'll be going!

I'm not a club member.

Gee I thought Trophy Class ran rather well. :? I for 1 found most in trophy class friendly and was happy to edge each other on to the end. I know I was but I guess I am not in it for sheep stations. I just enjoy it for what it is. Sure I get pumped up if Casper got to the end of the track but don't we all. I have meet some really nice people both male and female in Trophy Class. JMO.

Thanks Ben & Dan.

Constructive critisism is good as long as it is discussed amongst people with a vested interest and not on a public forum - hence I am happy to see you guys coming to the next meeting.

To everyone in general - One thing that everyone should consider (members & non-members alike) is that there is no benefit in making personal attacks against anybody.

Some problems were raised from both the competitors point of view and from the officials point of view. As I happen to be both an official (scrutineer & crowd control) and competitor then I can see both points of view.

However ---- I have always thought that club members who give up their own time, as volunteers, to provide others with a form of entertainment or sport are only doing it for the love of the sport and the loyalty to the club. NO-ONE is turning up just to spoil some-one's day.

Some times decisions may seem personal. But consider this - all the officials and club members are under the constant scrutiny of both competitors and their supporters, as well as spectators. Why would they make decisions that are just going to rain down flack upon themselves if there was not a good reason for it.

When the problems are raised at the meeting we should address the problem and find, or work on, a solution - and not look for some-one to blame. Once again - this applies to both members & non members.

Sorry to burst your bubbles boys, but your complaints will fall on deaf ears, unless you lodge an official complaint/protest, which needs to be dine with in 24 hours, and your outa luck on that too.

One rule for one and another rule for others has always been the complaint from the very start of tough tracks events, even back as far as ASCC days from many cmpetitors, and the answers that those competitors has been "if you dont like it F**K OFF".

Why do you think there were only 15 compeetitiors in each class, when there use to be 30+.

While the organisers and officials of this event give up there time freely, becareful who you criticise. I hoped that with a committee change 2 years ago that this problem would be solved, but no such luck i am afraid. and I think you will find that this is just going to continue as it is, good luck on your visit to the club meeting, but dont be suprised if you get shot down.

Having been a committee member and official for tough tracks myself, I have also received the "if you dont like F**K OFF" Attitude myself, so what does that tell you - that the committee (those in charge) will run the club and the events as they see fit.

I would like to see a Brand New committee come from the AGM and maybe some of those competitors that have issues with the rules need to step up.

Just my 2 cents worth

I think now I could of gone about it a different way but what has been said is said, I look forward to discussing it with the club and see if we can get the 30+ field back in challenge like it used to be.

Would just like to say thanks to Tough Tracks for a great weekend.
We had a ball smashing the truck up and breaking the front tailshaft but thats 4x4ing for you.
We will definately be back for round 3 with a stronger more shinier truck next time.
Carnage for the weekend was a very dented Drivers door, smashed window, broken front tailshaft, smashed locking hub, 2 broken blinkers and very twisted alloy gaurds.
Would like to say that as the new guys everyone that we met in challenge class and Tough Tracks 4x4 Club were very helpful with ideas and hints, it realy helps on your first comp.
Hopefully next comp we will have a bit more wheel time than driving it on and off the trailer.
Thanks to all

comp

Post by Dog Tyred Racing »

Hi All, We had a ball and lucky for me we had no damage at all. Even though Jane couldn't be there, Geoff navied for me and did a fantasitc job. Unfortunately there will always be opinions that vary and I have been competing since the ASSC began and seen and heard a lot - I think we all have to remember that we are doing it for the "love of the sport" and nothing more. These events are only available to us because of these amazing volunteers. I love them all. Thanks again to all that make this event happen. Sorry I cannot be at the meeting as I would love to be able to support you all in that way also.
Regards

Sheep Stations and Twenty Dollar Trophy

Post by suzyted »

I think sheep stations and the $20 trophy say it all really. At trophy class we have really good time both on and off the tracks. Maybe the comp should be treated for what it is and not a round of an Australian off road title. A special thanks to all the marshals etc who give up their time so we can have a fun weekend

It's a love fest!

I too had a great time, thanks to all the officials, my only comment is the Jeeps Suck.

Maybe next time the Jimny will beat that Jeep.

"Opps, did I say that out loud?"

I'll be at the Springs, hope to see you all their.
