4.8 Patrols ... are there better years to look out for?

Post by GU2GQ »

Hi
My first post here
I'm in the market for a 4.8 Patrol
My budget restricts me to 2002, 03 and possibly 2004 modles
My question is are there Good or Bad years to look out for?
I.e. did certain years suffer issues with injectors, motors etc
Also can someone explain the MkII and MkIII terms?

Any comment welcome
Thanks in advance

All 4.8's will be GUIII or newer. (probably what you mean by MKII and MkIII).

There's no real issues which are build year specific. Gearbox 5th gears could be suspect in 02 and 03 models but this seems to affect the diesels rather than the petrols?

Thank you
In reference to MKII etc, I think thats what I meant, not sure really what the GUII and III is all about to be honest

I am looking for an petrol AUTO, I want one without the LPG convesion as I want to choose the brand/system etc

Just thought like many other vehicle / models they may have years that seem to be plauged with issues

Good to see these are all OK

Thank you for taking the time to respond
