3L Hilux oil pressure thread

Post by sierrajim »

I've just been trying to fit the oil pressure gauge to my 3L 2.8ltr diesel Hilux. The gauge mounting is easy, wiring easy, the VDO adaptor (t piece) appears to be the same thread however the original sender unit has a slight taper on the end. The VDO unit will not screw in :?:

Any one else had this issue? The doofus at Autobahn says it's the only one he has listed for a Hilux diesel, the original sender also screws into the adaptor quite easily in the female ports.

Yeah a tapered thread may screw into a parallel thread but it won't seal properly and vice versa. I think :?
