Ateco Warn Challenge 2008 - Rnd 3 Engel

Post by TRobbo »

This is it. The first official post for the LEGENDARY Ateco Warn Challenge - Round 3 of the Engel Challenge Series.

To be held again at Bindaree Station in Willow Grove, Victoria on Friday July 25 - Sunday July 27.

A mix of old and new tracks and plenty of new challenges.

On Friday we will have scrutineering and three night stages,
on Saturday we will have six tough stages as befits the reputation of The Ateco
on Sunday we will have three short stages with potential for winching and one SSS.

There will be limited public access on Saturday and it will be wide open for spectators on Sunday.

The entry form will be available on the CCDA web site www.ccda4wd.com.au shortly or a copy can be obtained direct from Mike Smith. Supp regs will also be available shortly.

The management team has many old stallwarts including

Event Director : Mike Smith
Competition Manager: Geoff Mooney.
Tracks: Neil Cooper.
Marshals: Tony Robinson.
Medical: Scott Allen.
Recovery: Roger Smith.
Marketing & Administration: Mel Smith.

Working bees will be held late June/early July and competitor teams will need to pre register their attendance. (details will be in supp regs)

People wishing to marshal should send me an email trobinson.1@optusnet.com.au
I will also be making contact with stage managers shortly.
Marshal teams will typically consist of 5 - 6 people and will require pre approval/CCDA membership subscriptions paid up.

Stay tuned to outerlimits to get your regular updates first hand

Competitors Please note:
we need your help in setting up new stages. It will be advantageous to you to come and assist in two ways: one you will have the opportunity to drive the new sections and two, we will pay you to help!!

Remember: Enter by 30 June 08

Register for a working bee.

Everyone has a different idea of what perfect would be, so i will never promise perfect.

Better is much easier to attain and satisfy. I understand there were some issues on the Sunday last year. It will definately be better!

I think by limited tony means you cant get to everything as a spectator, and there are limited vantage points, but its well worth the trip down for saturday.

Exactly right, thanks Richard.

It's not circuit racing so we dont have a great big grand stand to seat 100,000 people. We are in the bush so there will be times that there are trees around where you want to watch.
There are also some tracks that you simply cannot get to or watch safely, so these are not promted as part of the spectacle.
Saturday hosts the toughest tracks of the weekend and so is a great day to see plenty of really ballsy driving, and rest assured we wont close the gates due to a "full house" or lock you out at 2:00 unlike some other venues you may visit on a Saturday (night)
