4b shuddering

Post by Nev62 »

Have a problem where a 4b will start shuddering super bad on and off from around 60kmh when driving. It is not consistent but scares the crap out of you big effort to maintain control. It is not just the wheel but the whole car that shakes violently (like a dogey shopping trolley wheel only much worse).

I have checked the wheel bearings but they seem fine. Any ideas what else to check?

Have changed the wheels/tyres - no change
Have checked/reset wheel bearings - no change
tie rod ends good
no noticable movement in kingpins
steering dampener good
alignment looks ok

The shudder started after a body lift, have rechecked the lift and nothing out of place.

What am I missing???????????

steering wheel extension post?
transmission/transfer stick?

might be rubbing on the body, causing everything to shake
