ARB RD136 works on front GQ H233B ?

Post by Mario »

I plan to get a front ARB locker. If I buy the new RD136 (replacement for RD78A) will I be able to use it on my actual GQ front ?
What if I get a RD78A ? Will I be able to use it on a GU front ? I read somewhere that I have to remove a pin, but not sure ...

According to ARB website's application list, it's still an RD78A.

yes the new RD136 fits both GQ and GU you get the thrust pad with it to fit in GQ as you did with the RD78A but you dont need it anyway just fit the GQ axles in without pad. i have fitted 4 of the new RD136 allready and have had no problems .I never used the pad in the RD78As either in fact in some trucks the thrust pad makes the axles bind up as there to tight

Thrust Block

Post by dbongard »

The thrust block is not required for front fit.
It is there for semi-float rears where the vehicle came with an OE thrust block.
You can tell it has one if you look inside the OE diff and see axle scrub marks .
Otherwise they are good for propping up that one table leg that's too short. :D
